Students enrolled in the 530.421 Mechanics course were challenged to design and build robotic devices capable of producing rudimentary works of art. Digital Media Center Director, Joan Freedman lectured the students about various types of media, explored many styles of paper-based art, and famous artists. Each ArtBot is a self-contained mobile device that uses at least two different sensors and actuators to move over the surface of the canvas to create a a work of art.
