In 2007 the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra and Digital Media Center collaborated to crete Maya Beckons; I Shall Embrace Her. The Orchestra commissioned Andrew Cole, the Digital Audio Specialist at the DMC, to write a piece for orchestra and electronics. The electronics were realized by Matt Sterling a DMC student and Andrew.
