Online Reservations
Lab patrons may make reservations for equipment and resources using ourĀ online reservation system. Before you can reserve equipment at the DMC you must first:
1) Be a full time student enrolled in the Schools of Engineering or Arts & Sciences.
2) Come into the DMC and sign a borrower’s contract at the beginning of each fall semester.
For detailed instructions on using our online reservation system, login to the system and view the Help documentation, linked to from the top of the screen. In addition, you may call the DMC during our hours of operation at 410-516-3817.
Getting Started with Online Reservations
To log in to WebCheckout, you must already be a lab patron. If you are not sure if you are currently a lab patron, please call the DMC at 410-516-3817. Lab patrons can log in by visiting the link above. You will be asked to enter your JHED ID and password. If you already have reservations for equipment at the DMC, you will see a menu to choose an existing reservation, or create a new one (Figure 1). If you do not have any reservations, you will be taken to the WebCheckout home page (Figure 2).

Notice the buttons near the top of the home page: "Reservations", "Resources", "Policies", "Help" and "Logout". The home page will originally display your current reservation (if there is one) in a box at the left labeled "Editing CK-[Reservation ID]". If you've made no reservations, the box will be labeled "Editing New Reservation".
Find resources by clicking on the "Resources" button at the top of the screen. This link will take you to the Browse Resources Page (Figure 3). When you've found a resource you'd like to add, click the "Add" link in the Actions column to add it to your reservation-in-progress. The resource should appear in the "Reservation Summary" window at the right of the screen and disappear from the list of available resources. Note that each item you've added to the Reservation Summary has a "Remove" link to the right of its name. If you click the "Remove" link, the item will be removed from the Reservation Summary and will reappear in the list of available resources. You may add and remove as many resources as you like until your reservation summary contains all the items you'll need. When your list is complete, you'll need to save the reservation so it becomes permanent. Click on the "Reservations" button at the top of the screen to return to the box showing the reservation being edited ("Editing CK-[Reservation ID]").
