Gaming Takes the Spotlight on Homewood Campus

The JHU Digital Media Center, Department of Computer Science and the Center for Educational Resources, in conjunction with Homewood Student Affairs, are pleased to announce several new ventures that integrate gaming into the academic and co-curricular lives of Homewood students.  Initiatives include the introduction of a Game Design class offered by the Computer Science Dapartment, a Game Lab at the DMC to support the study of game design and creation, enhanced game design and production resources available for students via the DMC, game-related events on the Homewood campus, and a Gaming Lounge in the Mattin Center for student use.

Aves: Binaural Audio Game for the iPhone

"Immerse yourself in a world of stunningly realistic 3D binaural audio and interact with lifelike synthetic flying creatures in the revolutionary 3D bow and arrow hunting game 'Aves'."  What began as tinkering at the DMC and with plenty of creativity and ingenuity, graduate student Omar Ahmed created an iPhone game that demonstrates powerful new methods for binaural audio and interactive motion.
