2009 Homewood Student Video Competition Winners
1st Place - A Day in the Life of the DMC
A Freshman student wanders out of the library into a magical land of film and media, discovering all the DMC has to offer in the process.
2nd Place - The World is Yours
Inspired by Brian de Palma's box office hit Scarface, the directors of The World is Yours decided to make a film about the potential success of a group of engineers in the land of opportunities. When Alex, Louis, Ben, and Vijay hear about a project that is up for grabs, they get to work without a moment to spare. Their task: to design and construct an automated paper folding machine. It's not an easy job, but the project becomes a complete success after the group tackles various obstacles by using clever techniques and making wise investments.

People's Choice - Rotate that Pole!
Baltimore Gas and Electric decided that the current process of rotating transmission poles (manually using what is called a CANT hook) was too difficult and strenuous. They therefore hired 4 mechanical engineering seniors (Kai Selterman, Alex Bodell, Omar Almagri, and Brian Ejsmont) to design an automated way to rotate these poles. Through clever design and careful planning team SPARK came up with a drive gear mechanism to automate the rotating process. Therefore, the 4 students decided to make a rap video documenting the unbridled success of the project and the personal success of the young inspiring rappers.
